Nursery

I've been terrible about updating my blog. For the most part the nursery is completed with the exception of hanging her monogram above the crib. Here are a few photos:

Baby Shower

Finally getting around to this post. I had my baby shower two weeks ago, it was so wonderful. We had it at a place that does an afternoon tea. I adore teas so this was so much fun for me. Below are a few photos of the shower and some of the cute outfits. There was so much visiting going on we didn't get too many photos. My mother-in-law came into town as did my aunt, cousins and my BF from high school. I was so appreciative of them making the trip for my shower. It was a wonderful afternoon and so much fun to celebrate with my family and friends.

Pregnancy Update

I have been a huge blog slacker. Below are the rest of my belly shots leading up to this week's 34 week photo. This past weekend was my baby shower and it was so much fun. I'll do a special post on that here soon. Also is another photo of the nursery we're almost there and will post photos when it's completed...that is if PBK ever gets me the right crib.

29 Weeks and Nursery Sneak Peek

Here is my belly photo from last week at 29 wks. I'm still feeling great and craving sweets constantly. I've gain 30+ pounds :( Thankfully, the weather had warmed up here and I'm getting out for regular walks. We have decided on the name, actually we've had it for a while now it will be revealed when she's born. Here is a sneak peek of the nursery...Hubby did an amazing job painting the stripes. I'll post a photo when everything is done.

Pregnancy Update

Wow, I can't believe I abondaned my blog for so long. I am currently 29 wks...so hard to believe. We are expecting a little GIRL at the end of May! Here are some recent belly shots:

I've been feeling pretty good although now our baby girl is so big that when she moves so does my tummy, so cool. We've been working on the nursery and when it's all completed I'll post photos.

My Big Secret

I've been keeping a secret...I'm pregnant. Hubby and I are expecting our first baby at the end of May and we couldn't be more thrilled. For those of you who used to read my other blog we are still logged in for our China adoption and plan to still adopt. Things of course my change, but for now that is our plan. I plan to take some growing belly photos here soon and document the pregnancy. I look forward to getting some tips and advice from you seasoned Mamas.

Holiday Decor

It's getting close to that time of year and I couldn't be more excited! I love decorating for Christmas. I started this weekend by purchasing a wire tree from Crate & Barrel, I love it! We already had the 12 Days of Christmas ornaments and I have to say it's a beautiful piece. I'm also looking for some new ornaments as I'm tired of what we've used in the past. If anyone has seen some must-have ornaments let me know.

On Saturday I stopped by our Target store to find pet costumes for 90% off. I could not resist purchasing a few for our dogs. Below is our black Lab in his banana split costume, he didn't seem to find the humor in it. I purchased an adorable ram costume for our chocolate Lab, however, she would not sit still for a photo. Sorry for the poor photo quality this was taken with my Blackberry.

Wow, had it really been over a month since I last posted?! I promise to get blogging more regularly here soon. The weather here in the Midwest has quickly moved from fall to what feels like winter. I have a few must have items for the winter, here are just a few:

Fall is Here

Fall is here in the Midwest and I could not be happier. This means cool morning, soups, pumpkin bread, boot, sweaters, football, ect.. Can you tell this is my favorite time of year?! This weekend I started my Sunday ritual of making soup/stew. On the menu for this week is chicken soup, here's how I made mine:

3 - 32 oz containers of free range chicken broth (I use Trader Joes brand)
3/4 bag of egg noodles
1 bag of organic mixed veggies from (carrots, peas, corn and green beans)
1 - rotisserie chicken
dash of rosemary and pepper

This recipe is super easy makes a large amount of soup. I have plenty for leftovers and enough to freeze.

What to wear this fall?

So it's almost fall here in the midwest despite the 80 degree weather. I'm so ready to start wearing sweaters and boots. I've been adding a few new things to my wardrobe, so far I've purchased some new jeans, flats, military-style jacket, and some long-sleeved tees.

This sweet boy is 10 today! He is the best dog anyone could ask for and a real love bug. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

I'm Back with a New Blog

I'm so excited to start blogging again. I took a much longer than anticipated blog break. Some of you may remember my previous blog Almost Home. I decided to a create a blog that was more about our life now and less focus on our adoption. Today Hubby and I had a great afternoon. We went to a local park and went hiking, so much fun and great exercise. Afterwards, we went out for ice cream at a local organic creamery. Below are some photos of our adventures today. I'm so in love with the calfs from the creamery, aren't they just the cutest!?

Some of you may wonder why I chose the blog name, well let me be honest and say it took me months to decide on a title. I chose Midwest Classic simply because I live in the Midwest and I'm pretty Classic/Traditional in style and decorating, so there you have it.
